ASCE has honored Joel G. Burken, Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, and Eva Lerner-Lam, NAE, M.ASCE, with the 2024 ASCE President’s Medal.
Burken is recommended for serving as chair of the Department Heads Council and striving to improve and foster updated processes that produce street-ready engineers who want to change the world.
Lerner-Lam is recommended for championing standards for smart communities, serving as ambassador of the profession at all levels, and for continued leadership in transportation and development initiatives designed to help shape human and freight mobility in communities of the future.
The ASCE President’s Medal recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of eminent engineers to the profession, the Society, or the public.
