Region 6 Director Official Nominee

Vision statement
ASCE’s vision of engineered and natural systems working in harmony for the benefit of humanity and mission to lead the civil engineering profession to sustainably advance and protect the health, safety and welfare of all is only possible by ASCE’s commitment to its members: Inspire, connect, and serve our global membership to maximize their professional and personal growth and magnify their lifelong professional impact.
My vision for the Region 6 Society Director is to aid ASCE’s commitment in bringing value to our members and helping to implement the strategic shifts outlined in ASCE’s Strategic Plan.
My vision the Region 6 Director is in line with ASCE’s Strategic Shifts:
- Innovate: Encourage topics of innovation, sustainability, and infrastructure’s future at the local level by promoting Future World Vision, Cities of the Future, and other initiatives.
- Advocate: Support the efforts of Sections preparing Infrastructure Report Cards by connecting regional resources and members with experience in doing so with those endeavoring for their first time.
- Inspire: Continue to help make the Frontier Student Symposium a top-notch event that recognizes the contributions of a wide variety of talents, backgrounds, and engineers – both students and professionals alike.
- Stimulate: Celebrate the contributions that Region 6 members make to the development and adoption of emerging technologies. Encourage the participation of Region members in Society-level committees.
- Magnify: Explore ways to support struggling Sections, Branches, and Student Chapters in membership engagement, satisfaction, and growth.
- Deliver: Effectively manage Region resources, including the Region 6 Grant program, to provide efficient value for our members
I have seen the passion our ASCE leaders have for our profession and its future and am committed to seeing ASCE’s Board of Direction’s decisions carried out. We are in an exciting time of enormous engineering challenges in a quickly evolving technological landscape. ASCE and its members are poised to build our future, and I am excited to continue serving the Society, and the ASCE members in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico.
