Nomination Deadline: November 1st

The award, which may be given annually, shall be known as the James A. Rossberg Award for Collaboration that benefits the structural engineering profession. The award shall recognize an individual who has advanced the structural engineering profession through collaboration with engineering entities and/or professional associations.

Rules

  1. The Award shall recognize an individual who engages disciplines or organizations within or outside the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) or ASCE to build consensus on issues of importance to SEI and the structural engineering community.
  2. This award is open to anyone including engineers, academics, SEI staff, staff of aligned professional organizations, or any other individual advancing the mission. The award may recognize accomplishments at any stage of a career, including early or mid-career technical accomplishments and service to SEI indicating unusual potential to make significant contributions to the goals of SEI and the structural engineering profession.
  3. Nominations may be submitted by anyone and must include at least one letter of recommendation from an SEI member.
  4. The nominations will be reviewed by the SEI Professional Community award task committee, which shall select a nominee to recommend to the SEI Board of Governors for final approval. Nominations not selected in a given year will be held over for consideration through the next selection cycle. At the end of the second cycle, nominees not chosen will no longer be eligible for consideration unless a new nomination package is submitted. 
  5. A majority vote by the Board of Governors of SEI shall be required to confer the Award.
