Construction project owners expect the civil engineers who design their projects to produce biddable construction documents that will result in a construction contract award within the budget specified in the design contract. This webinar presents a few possible tools to make cost-conscious design decisions by exploiting available cost data. It will demonstrate how investing in data-driven design decision-making tools can inform the evaluation of design alternatives. The tools shown are based on geospatial platforms that allow the engineer to visualize the cost of alternative design solutions for the specific project’s location.
