Jorge Rueda has 12 years of consulting and research experience in various Construction Engineering and Management topics. His areas of expertise include effective construction project management, risk management, project delivery methods, decision-making, transportation asset management, advanced cost engineering, construction workforce development, and data analytics applied to Construction Engineering and Management.

Dr. Rueda obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia. He worked supervising multifamily construction projects before moving to the U.S. to pursue his graduate studies at Iowa State University, where he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management.

Dr. Rueda is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University, where he has worked since 2016 teaching various courses and managing a research program on Construction Engineering and Management. He has several publications in his areas of expertise, including journal articles, conference manuscripts, industry guidebooks, and reports associated with national research initiatives. He is a co-author of a book titled Construction Equipment Management for Engineers, Estimators, and Owners. Dr. Rueda has served on various technical committees of the Transportation Research Board and has represented the construction industry on committees and initiatives launched by the Government of Alabama. He is currently leading the creation of the Alabama Construction Workforce Alliance (ACWA) to help address construction workforce challenges across the state.
