Nerea Castro studied Mechanical & Structural Engineering at the School of Industrial Engineers in Bilbao. She is a partner at IDOM Consulting, Engineering & Architecture SAU with fifteen (15) years of experience specialised in developing innovative approaches to unique mechanical solutions, based on the use of advanced tools like finite elements calculations and simulations, fatigue simulations and advanced aging simulations. Since 2015 she is Project Manager in IDOM being responsible for large- multidisciplinary international projects involving detailed design phases, as well as on site assembly and commissioning phases. Some examples of the principal projects where Nerea has been heavily involved in the design and construction are GMT Enclosure project as Deputy Project Manager, Windbox Association Blade Bearing Test Bench as Project Manager, San Mames Football Stadium for Athletic Club de Bilbao and E-ELT European – Extremely Large Telescope as Structural Lead Engineer.
