Hannele Zubeck, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, a professor emerita of civil engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage, has been named a fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.
Zubeck’s field of expertise is in geotechnical engineering, more specifically frozen ground engineering and pavement engineering in cold regions. She has educated hundreds of civil engineering students and practicing civil engineers in the fields of geotechnical engineering and arctic engineering.
She serves on several national and international committees, including ASCE's Cold Regions Engineering Division, and is a member of the editorial board of the Elsevier Journal for Cold Regions Science and Technology.
Zubeck has authored numerous journal and conference papers in her specialty areas. Most notably, she and Guy Doré co-authored the book Cold Regions Pavement Engineering, published by ASCE Press / McGraw-Hill.
