Elected Region 4 Governor
Vision statement
Civil engineers have always been planning. The infrastructure that we design has long accounted for decades of future use. ASCE has always embraced that concept of planning. As a Region Governor for North Carolina, I want to continue that practice. I’ll do that by updating the North Carolina infrastructure report card, actively engaging with students, and working with elected officials to better the lives of civil engineers.
While working with ASCE in North Carolina, I created the NC Eastern Branch mentor program to engage our youth. I have been actively involved with students and faculty from our student chapters across the state. I have also worked with local and federal officials to advocate for better policies for civil engineering. But I don’t believe these should be separate items. I believe engaging students more by working with them to help with the report card and once that report card is complete more interest from elected officials will occur. ASCE in North Carolina has a great opportunity and I want to be a part of that.
