Region 3 Director

Craig Hebebrand previously served ASCE as the Region 3 Governor representing Ohio and as President of both the Cleveland Section and the Ohio Council. He was the 2014 recipient of the Cleveland Section’s Outstanding Civil Engineering of the Year Award. Craig is currently the ASCE Region 3 Director and serves on the Program & Finance Committee.

He has 42 years of professional experience as a Transportation Engineer. He spent the first 30 years of his career with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), serving as a Transportation Engineer, the District Consultant Contracts Administrator, and the Cleveland Urban Core Major Project Manager overseeing the Cleveland Innerbelt Study, George V. Voinovich Bridge, Quigley Road Connector, Lakefront West and Opportunity Corridor. While at ODOT Craig was involved in the successful implementation of a variety of innovative processes and projects, including the development of ODOT’s Design-Build Program and ODOT’s first modern roundabout. In 2013 he joined Arcadis serving as Project Manager for a variety of projects ranging from corridor studies to a new diverging diamond interchange in Maumee, Ohio.

Craig was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a tool and die maker and a coal miner’s daughter. He is a proud graduate of Cleveland State University, earning his Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1982 and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1989. Craig and his wife Maria have been married for 39 years and have three adult children.
