2025 Civil Engineering Education Summit, June 10–12 at Case Western Reserve University

The 2025 ASCE Civil Engineering Education Summit brings together industry and faculty leaders to propel innovation in the civil engineering education continuum.

The Summit will have attendees collaborate to identify, define, and develop plans to address:

  • The top 5 professional skills needed to meet future needs.
  • The top 5 technical skills needed to meet future needs.
  • Five new inclusive outreach strategies to attract future civil engineers.

Over 200 civil engineering educators, practitioners, and guests convened at the Civil Engineering Education Summit in Dallas, Texas, in May 2019 to consider the future of civil engineering education. The group discussions and workshops produced four major objectives for engineering educational systems:

  • Reexamine and potentially redefine the domain of civil engineering
  • Elevate professional skills to an equal footing with technical skills
  • Develop a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and engaging culture within the civil engineering profession
  • Foster an ongoing commitment to transformative education
