This symposium is organized by colleagues of Dr. Geoff Martin to honor his distinguished contributions in the fields of port earthquake engineering, port infrastructure, and performance-based seismic engineering practice.  Dr. Martin has been actively engaged in policy-making efforts aimed at improving seismic safety measures and resilience.  Following the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Dr. Martin was appointed by the then Governor of California to serve on the California Seismic Safety Commission Panel to review the effects of the earthquake and develop policy implications.  In addition to his groundbreaking contributions to the field, Dr. Martin is Emeritus Professor at University of Southern California, consultant, and recipient of prestigious industry awards, including the 2012 ASCE H. Bolton Seed Medal.

Enrollment: $250 
At the conclusion of the event, full proceeds will be donated to the ASCE COPRI Research Fund, administered by the ASCE Foundation. The COPRI Research Fund invests in research and development activities to advance the practice of civil engineering on the coasts, oceans, ports, and rivers. The ASCE Foundation operates within ASCE, a 501(c)(3) organization.
