Anne Smith a principal of Smith Culp Consulting, has over 30 years of combined experience as a practicing engineer, project manager and a trainer of engineers, architects and project managers. She started the management consulting and training firm in 1992, after being the Director of Training and Vice President of a large national AE consulting company responsible for developing training and development programs for the engineering and architectural professional staff. Prior to her work as a trainer, facilitator and management consultant, she served as a project engineer and manager on a wide range of water and wastewater regional planning and design projects.
She is the coauthor of two leadership and management books "The Lead Dog Has The Best View - Leading Your Team to Project Success" - ASCE Press 2005 and "Managing People (Including Yourself) For Project Success - John Wiley-1992 and has coauthored and published a number of papers in industry journals including the ASCE Journal of Engineering Management. "Consulting Engineers: Myers-Briggs and Temperament Preferences," Journal of Engineering Management, American Society of Civil Engineers April 2009. "Leadership Effectiveness and Behavior," Journal of Engineering Management, American Society of Civil Engineers (April, 2005). She has developed and delivered training programs for the University of Washington for practicing engineers since 1991. She provides training, facilitation and management consulting to small and large groups in the private and government sector nationwide. She has delivered project management training in cooperation with IBM, one of the first companies to offer in-house webinars in the 1990s. She is active in the ASCE Southern Nevada Branch and is currently the Chair of the Training Committee. She is also a member of the American Society of Training and Development and the International Association of Facilitators.
