Ece Erdogmus is a Professor and School Chair at the School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech. Previously, she was a Professor and Associate Director at the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction at the University of Nebraska. She is a licensed professional (structural) engineer. Her current research interests include design practices and code requirements related to masonry structures, finite and discrete element modeling of complex structural systems, rehabilitation and assessment of existing construction, and STEM education research assessing the impact of virtual/augmented reality technologies on the career decision making, student engagement and diversity-awareness of architectural engineering and construction students.
She received her Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her M.S. degree from the same institution and has a bachelor's degree from the Department of Architecture at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
