Shoots Veis is a project manager and engineer, as well as an experienced and engaging public speaker, having given hundreds of public presentations at professional conferences, college courses, public meetings, TEDxBillings and service clubs. Shoots served a five-year term on the Billings, MT, city council, where he took an interest in infrastructure, finance, and public speaking by engineers. His time on the council prompted him to write Public Speaking for Engineers: Communicating Effectively with Clients, the Public, and Local Government. Shoots has served as an ASCE Region 8 Governor and the Montana Section President. He is a member of the Billings Studio Theatre Board of Directors after having spent several years appearing as an actor in dozens of productions and hosts the Your County and Your Schools programs on Community 7 Television.
