Timothy Reinhold retired from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) at the end of 2017 after almost 14 years with the institute. His professional career also includes twelve years as a professor of Civil Engineering at Clemson University, ten years as a consulting engineer with firms in the US, Canada and Denmark and five years at the National Institute for Standards and Technology. He earned BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Reinhold's experience includes wind engineering studies for high-rise buildings, long-span bridges and specialty structures located in the United States, Europe, and South America. His experience includes damage assessments, model and full-scale laboratory studies, and field research. He serves on the ASCE 7 Wind Loads subcommittee and served on the SBCCI Wind Load subcommittee. Tim has authored or co-authored numerous journal papers, chapters of books and conference publications.
