Mehmet Arslan Boz, PhD., P.E., F.ASCE, a regional executive at KCI Technologies Inc., has been named a fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Since graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2002, Boz has built a distinguished career in the consulting sector of the civil engineering industry. His journey has seen him advance from roles such as engineer-in-training and project engineer to assuming leadership positions, culminating in his current role.

Boz actively engages various professional and community organizations at local, regional, and national levels, including the Greater Washington Board of Trade, The Public Works Experience, ASCE, Water Environment Association of Texas, and many others. His contributions extend beyond membership, as he has served on multiple committees and boards dedicated to giving back to the community.

Notably, he recently chaired ASCE’s Committee on Professional Career Growth, leading a diverse group in developing and launching the ASCE Engineering Grades guidelines and matrix—a pivotal resource for the industry's future engineers. This year-long endeavor underscored his commitment to advancing professional standards and fostering career development.

Boz’s leadership in numerous water and environmental projects has been equally impactful, emphasizing collaboration and the mentoring of young engineers. These initiatives encompassed critical areas such as water and wastewater infrastructure as well as environmental planning and remediation, highlighting his dedication to technical excellence and interpersonal growth among team members, recognizing their critical role in effective teamwork for designing and delivering complex projects. He orchestrated and guided numerous internal training sessions within his organizations, perpetually seeking avenues for enhancement.

Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, Boz initiated and spearheaded KCI’s technical webinar series, fostering industry-wide collaboration and professional development opportunities. 

He currently oversees KCI’s Rotational Program, a year-long, innovative recruitment and talent management initiative designed for entry-level engineers to explore various services offered by KCI before choosing a specialization. While the initiative has been highly successful prior to Boz’s involvement, his enhancements are poised to further elevate its success and appeal by strengthening its structure and impact on talent development within the company.

Boz holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a master of civil engineering from Norwich University, a doctoral degree in engineering (civil) from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University, Maryland. He is a licensed professional engineer in Louisiana, Texas, and Maryland, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and multidisciplinary expertise.
