Abdelwahab Tahsin Mohsen, Ph.D., P.E., FICE, F.ASCE, a professional consulting engineer with 33 years of experience, has been named a fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Moshen has consistently played a pivotal technical and managerial role on numerous national and international projects, from bidding to completion, while meeting budget, program and quality targets. He has a track record of introducing innovative and practical ideas to align with project priorities, reduce life-cycle costs, maintain cost-effectiveness, adhere to programs, and enhance project functionality.

He has strong experience with international codes and standards, with interactive collaboration with international managed joint ventures. He has also taken a significant role in the design or construction of technically complex and innovative works for diverse project portfolio spans like the Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids, Egypt with Arup, UK; Greater Cairo Metro, lines 2& 3; SYSTRA, France; Greater Cairo Metro Line 4, with JICA, JAPAN; Light Rail Transit LRT phase 3, New Capital, Egypt; the Chinese Consortium AVIC- CREC; Dubai Metro, Red & Green lines, and others.

Moshen is a fellow of Institution of Civil Engineers UK and a structural/civil technical director at one of the leading consultancy firms in MENA region, “ACE Consulting Engineers: Moharram- Bakhoum,” Egypt, as well as participating and managing large complicated engineering projects across multiple asset classes in Egypt, Gulf, Middle East, and Africa. 

He has maintained a commitment to continuous professional development through active enrollment in academic studies, with publications, and his dynamic participation in conferences. He is also an associate professor (part-time) supervising graduation projects at Egyptian Russian and October Universities, Egypt. He serves as a reviewer of the international research journal Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, IISS accredited by ELSEVIER and Journal of Housing & Building Research Center HBRC, Egypt. Moshen has published nine papers and instructed frequent talks at conferences and workshops. He was an organizing member of the GEOAFRICA 2023 international conference, hosted by International Geosynthetics Society IGS, Egypt chapter. 

He has been a Scientific Committee Member of numerous international conferences in Turkey, Hungary, India, Syria, China, Sri Lanka, and Egypt. He was an honorary guest and keynote speaker at international conferences on sustainable civil engineering hosted by Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India, August 2023.

Additionally, he has undertaken fundamental and applied research that has significantly advanced the body of engineering knowledge and strengthened his experience as a professional consultant. He pursued a doctoral degree in civil engineering (soil-structure interaction) at Cairo University, Egypt, in 2020. He is a project management professional certified by PMI, USA, and a value methodology associate declared by SAVE International, USA.
