The UWRRC Award for Outstanding Service may be made annually to recognize an individual or group for notable performance, long years of distinguished service, or specific actions that have served to advance the Council’s goals and objectives in the field of planning, development, and management of urban water resources.

Rules
- A maximum of one award will be given annually. No award will be given when worthy candidates are not identified.
- Only members of UWRRC are eligible to receive this award. Membership in EWRI must be concurrent with major contributions to the field of urban water resources research. An individual may receive the award only once; previous winners are ineligible.
- The UWRRC Award Committee shall recommend a nominee(s) to the EWRI Awards Committee, which submits the recommendation to the EWRI Governing Board for final approval.
- The Award Selection Committee shall be composed of a minimum of three (3) members of UWRRC. The Chair of this committee will be the Past Chair of the Urban Water Resources Research Council. The other two members will be past recipients of this award or past chairs of the Council as determined by the Council’s Executive Committee.
- The award will consist of a plaque that generally will be presented at an EWRI conference.
Nominations
Nominations will be accepted from any member of UWRRC. The due date for nominations is August 1. A complete nomination package shall include the following:
- A third-party letter of nomination describing how the nominee(s) meets the criteria for the award.
- An official EWRI award nomination form.
- The nominee's CV or biographical information.
- A minimum of three, maximum of five, letters of recommendation from colleagues intimately familiar with the nominee's contributions to the goals and objectives of the UWRRC.
