Purpose and Background
The aging structural stock makes it harder and more expensive to conduct regular engineering inspections. Lack of inspection will cause more and more safety issues in the near future. The emerging technologies, such as image processing and artificial intelligence, can help engineers in collecting, annotating, and classifying the field data for a more efficient evaluation of the aging structures.
The emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, can help addressing some of the complex engineering problems. Some of the AI technologies, however, are not readily available yet for the everyday use of the engineers. Effective use of such emerging technologies requires engineers to get familiar with new tools and some theoretical concepts behind these new methods.
This webinar will focus on the state-of-the-art technologies which can help in structural monitoring and defect detection, as well as potential use cases, advantages, and limitations. The focus will be on AI but other approaches, such as image processing and smart decision making will also be presented. Practical examples and tutorials will be shared in the webinar from masonry structures, RC structures, monuments, and reinforced concrete floor surfaces. Other uses of AI in smart decision making will also be described shortly, in order to give a broader perspective of the capabilities of the technologies in hand.

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs and Receive Your Certificate of Completion
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course.
How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
