This webinar is part of a 3-part series on HEC-RAS.
Instructor: Lonnie Anderson, P.E., CFM
Course Length: 1 Hour
Purpose and Background
HEC-RAS V5.0 has the ability to model runoff in two dimensions. The new version will allow the modeler to apply precipitation to the surface as well as apply hydrographs at selected locations along the boundary. This ability allows the modeler to estimate and quickly view runoff patterns, flooding depths, velocities and flood extents prior to developing detailed hydrology and hydraulic models.
Visualization of the hydraulic results is extremely useful for determining flow concentration points and areas where overflow is occurring. Visual depictions of the floodwave assist with creation of more detailed models and presentation to clients and for reports and submittals.
This webinar focuses on a more in-depth look at the use of HEC-RAS 5.0 2D only ability. The webinar provides a discussion on the use of RAS Mapper in the development of the 2D model, preparing and importing background information such as Manning's n-value coverages. Emphasis is be placed on input and developing the 2D surface for use in RAS 5.0. Participants who wish to attend this webinar must be well-versed in using unsteady HEC-RAS and GIS software.

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs and Receive Your Certificate of Completion
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course. How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
