UESI Pipelines Conference

The American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE)—Utility Engineering & Surveying Institute (UESI) offers two opportunities to attend the UESI Pipelines Conference. The Pipelines Conference provides a forum for pipeline engineers and practitioners worldwide to share their experiences in meeting the challenges of today’s pipeline infrastructure. These opportunities are designed for college/university students enrolled in two or four-year programs within the US and Canada. All students must be student members of ASCE.

Pipelines Conference Student Scholarship - Application for Pipelines 2025 Conference now OPEN

The UESI Pipelines Conference Student Scholarship allows students to expand their knowledge on the most current state-of-the-art engineering technologies for pipeline and utilities infrastructure and network with their peers, potential employers, sponsors, and project team leads. The scholarship winners will get full admission to the conference and a $800 stipend for related expenditures. The application deadline is January 29, 2025 and is open for UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE students.

Student Competition at Pipelines Conference - Application now OPEN

The UESI Pipelines Conference Student Competition introduces undergraduate students to basic utility engineering and surveying concepts. The goal is to increase the student’s awareness and understanding of this area of Civil Engineering, ideally increasing the future workforce. The selected students will receive full admission to the conference and a $800 stipend for related expenditures. The winners of the competitions will get an additional $500 prize for each member of the winning team. The application deadline is January 29, 2025 and is open only to UNDERGRADUATE students.

Other Opportunities

UESI/ASCE Surveying Competition

The ASCE UESI Surveying Competition’s educational and professional goals include a recognition of the importance of basic surveying principles to all civil engineering projects. Students will be required to use standard field and office equipment and procedures to solve common problems encountered in industry. A clear understanding of and ability to apply basic surveying principles will assist the graduate civil engineer in communicating and working with the surveying professionals on the job site and during the design process. Regional Symposia take place in the spring with the Society-wide Championships in June.
