Purpose and Background
Within this Webinar, we will review how to evaluate a building's structural stability wholistically using a qualitative approach, for purposes of structural condition triage, conceptual design review, and/or demolition planning. The intended outcome is for the audience to be able to view a building's lateral and vertical load path wholistically in order to determine its overall stability for purposes of existing condition assessments and/or stability during future use, construction, or demolition activities.
Learning Outcomes and Benefits
The intended outcome is for the audience to be able to view a building's lateral and vertical load path wholistically in order to determine its overall stability for purposes of existing condition assessments and/or stability during future use, construction, or demolition activities.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the function of a Building and its Components relative to its current condition
- Apply qualitative approach to assessing the condition of an existing building's vertical and lateral load path with or without structural as-builts
- Compare theoretical vs actual load application and load sharing of existing structural systems
- Estimate potential failure modes of a Building and its Components
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
Students' achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed via a short post-assessment (true-false, multiple choice and fill in the blank questions).

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs and Receive Your Certificate of Completion
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course.
How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
