Hello COPRI Members, I hope you are all doing well and are off to a great start in 2025! My name is Dustin Young and I have been hired by ASCE to be the new Director of COPRI. It is my honor to be taking on this role and I want to thank my predecessor Jennifer Jacyna for an excellent job transitioning from long-time director Tom Chase.

A little about myself, I have been in the association industry for almost a decade working at the Association for Materials Protection and Performance and the American Iron and Steel Institute. I have held multiple roles including business development, technical and research program management, and education development just to name a few. I look forward to bringing my experience to COPRI and working with our volunteer member leaders to continue the positive trajectory of the institute. I have always had an affinity for the water engineering experts whose brilliance continues to shine thru on our coasts, oceans, ports and waterways.

Last but not least, I want to thank Norma Jean Mattei (COPRI President) and the rest of the COPRI Governing Board for welcoming me with open arms and trusting me to represent the Institute as the director. Our governing board leadership is second to none and they are truly committed to supporting the COPRI membership and growing the institute as a whole.

Over the coming months, you will be seeing more communication from myself but please do not hesitate to reach out in the meantime.

Again, thank you for supporting ASCE and COPRI and I greatly look forward to working with you all!
