EMI is initiating the election process for three open positions on the EMI Board of Governors (BoG). Elected members of the Board will serve a three-year term, starting October 1, 2025. Each member of the Board of Governors shall be in good standing with both the EMI and the Society.
Duties:
• The affairs, activities, and concerns of the Institute are directed by the BoG.
• The BoG oversees the Institute's affairs in accordance with the Society’s and Institute’s governing documents.
• The BoG has fiduciary, legal, operational, and strategic planning responsibilities.
• The BoG provides policy guidance to ensure the Institute fulfills its vision and mission.
• The BoG can define, establish, and discharge organizational elements such as:
• Standing committees
• Student chapters
• Local chapters
• Task committees
• The BoG may establish rules, policies, and procedures consistent with the Bylaws and Society governing documents to fulfill the Institute's mission and programs.
Nomination package:
• A letter of nomination
• A vita or resume (no page limitation)
• A letter from the nominee stating he/she is willing to serve if elected

Please note that while serving on the EMI Board of Governors, members will not be eligible to be nominated for the grade of EMI Fellow, or for any awards administered by EMI and are prohibited from writing nomination or support letters for candidates for either such awards or EMI Fellow.
