EMI welcomes Megan Hart, Ph.D., CCRMP, Global Head of Analytics and Collaborations, Climate Risk Advisory, Aon to the EMI Board of Governors on October 1st.

Megan is the Global Head of Analytics and Collaborations within Climate Risk Advisory at Aon based in Southfield, MI. Megan works on development and deployment of analytics capabilities to help Aon’s clients understand and appropriately manage their climate risk. This includes development of data and tools in house as well as engagement with academic research institutions and private companies via partnerships worldwide.

Megan joined Aon in 2014 as part of the Catastrophe Management group in Aon Reinsurance Solutions, helping insurance companies to develop custom, well-informed views of risk across key peril regions. She leveraged detailed model evaluations, claims data, lessons learned from recent events, knowledge of building codes, and insight into non-modeled risk and climate change impacts to develop client-specific and holistic views of natural catastrophe risk to be used throughout the organization for underwriting and accumulation management, growth strategy consideration, and risk transfer strategy.

Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and PhD in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Notre Dame. Her graduate research focused on natural catastrophes and impacts on the built environment, data-driven models, and wind engineering.

She also holds the Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP) credential, a collaboration between the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM) and The CAS Institute (iCAS), as well as the Verisk Certified Extreme Event Modeler (CEEM) designation.
